Do they see you for who you truly are? Do they hear you when you speak – I mean really hear you.

It might be at work, or it might be at home.

💥 Do people see and hear you?

Here’s what we know: Women of color are twice as likely to not feel seen for who they are and nearly twice as likely to not feel heard at work.

In last week’s newsletter, I wrote about how the 2-minute rule and 3rd spaces have helped me connect with myself and others – and ultimately tackle the tasks that matter most. What I didn’t go into deeply was the mental load it can take to sweep those tasks away.

On this International Women’s Day, I’m reminded how grateful I am to the powerful women in my life, and I’m conscious of the mental load that women often take on just to keep moving the rest of us forward.

👉🏽 To those women and to the many others who take on a disproportionately higher amount of labor when it comes to household tasks or office “housework”:  I see you and hear you.

👉🏽 To the men: It’s time to share the load. Put the “men” into the mental load. Pay attention to the women in your lives and take action where you can ease their burden.

And speaking of powerful women, the rest of the newsletter this week is dedicated to all of you, from TIME’s women of the year to the inspiring Palestinian women making an impact to a tennis legend-turned entrepreneur.
