Meet the founder empowering Black founders: In Community #41

Your weekly boost of positive energy centering BIPOC

What would it look like if you felt empowered to hit your goals?

What kind of support would you need to help you get there?

Last week, I wrote about taking two steps forward and one step back (not to be confused with this). With the right energy and the right support from our community – our people – we can get farther faster.

This week, I’m highlighting Kendra Bracken-Ferguson, a transformative brand builder who’s gone from comms professional to exited founder to venture fund leader.

Her work shines a light on Black beauty and wellness founders, and her recent book The Beauty of Success is a blueprint for navigating entrepreneurship and personal growth. We had the opportunity to spend some time with Kendra to hear directly from her on how she defines success, the work she’s doing, and what advice she has for all of us trying to build for our futures.

And speaking of shining a light, this week’s Need to Know features artists and leaders who continue to do just that in their chosen paths – and telling stories, including their own and those that represent what makes our communities.

Need To Know

Who are the authors, social impact leaders, entrepreneurs, executives, and more who should get featured for how they’re moving us forward together?

Are you one of them? Reach out with your ideas by replying to this directly. I mean it – who deserves to get the spotlight on them? Let me know.
