πŸ”₯ And now, for your weekly spark.

Nobody in this industry is struggling.

Just ask them.

The update is always polished. The energy is always calibrated. The answer to "how are you?" is true enough β€” but it's never the whole truth.

Somewhere along the way, the real text stopped getting sent. To colleagues. To team members. To the people who matter most to us.

πŸ‘‰πŸ½ We share the wins. We manage the rest alone.

Raye just dropped Click Clack Symphony β€” produced with Hans Zimmer β€” about the exact opposite of that.

She's in the house, going through the motions, until she sends the SOS to her girls. They show up. They walk out together. And the sound of their heels on the pavement becomes a full orchestral score.

The click clack of people who actually showed up.

That's the whole song. That's the whole point.

Let’s face it. So many of us are exceptional at broadcasting.

The win, the move, the milestone β€” curated, timed, delivered. And the higher you climb, the better you get at it. You read the room. You calibrate the energy. You learn which parts of yourself land and which parts to manage quietly.

It's not dishonesty. It's armor. And it works β€” right up until it doesn't.

Because the armor doesn't come off for your network. It barely comes off for your community. And slowly, without meaning to, the people who would actually show up β€” who'd pick up, come over, walk out with you β€” stop getting the real version.

They get the broadcast.

πŸŽ₯ Click clack click

I'm building my YouTube channel as the space where leaders from the rising majority have the real conversation β€” not the polished one. CMOs of the world's biggest companies, exited founders, creators who've built movements β€” talking about what it actually costs and what actually helps.

Take Tiana Conley, VP Corporate Brand & Purpose at Mars, for instance. We spoke about the challenges and realities she’s faced as she’s grown β€” as a leader, as a mother, and as a radically authentic team member.

Watch the full conversation with Tiana to see what it looks like to be radically authentic while leading across a $50 billion organization.

πŸ“Œ The Feed vs. The Text

Most ambitious people are permanently stuck in one mode. Here's what each actually looks like:

The Feed

The Text

You share the win, the move, the milestone β€” and curate everything else out.

You share what's actually happening, including the part you haven't figured out yet.

Your community knows your highlight reel but would be surprised by your real situation.

Your community could describe your real situation because you've actually told them.

You show up for others readily but deflect when people try to show up for you.

You let people in β€” not because you're in crisis, but because that's how community actually works.

The move from the feed to the text isn't vulnerability for its own sake. It's maintenance. The leaders who sustain β€” not just succeed β€” are the ones who reach out before the crisis. Who let their people actually see them. Who send the real text.

And just as importantly: someone in your community right now is living in the feed and hasn't sent it yet. Managing the appearance of fine. Waiting to see if anyone reaches out first.

Do you know who it is?

Don't wait for the SOS. Show up before it arrives. That's what real community does.

Raye didn't need an orchestra. She needed her girls to show up. The click clack did the rest.

πŸ‘‰πŸ½ Send the text.

✍🏽 The easiest way to start showing up as your radically authentic self

Share your thinking, your perspective, and your point of view. That's how you build the kind of visibility that shows your community the values that drive you β€” and who you really are.

I work with Stanley to make that easier. Stanley understands who I am, helps me be more consistent without starting from scratch every time, and gives me weekly insight to make it even easier and better. I was one of the first 100 people introduced to Stanley and have been impressed with how insightful the experience has been β€” and how it’s helped me show up as my authentic self.

If you've been meaning to show up more consistently and keep putting it off β€” Stanley removes the excuse.

🎯 The intel your competitors already have

This week, I talked about showing up for the right people at the right time. Our marketing should do the same.

At this level, you're probably not losing on creative. You're losing on targeting. The right message to the wrong people is just expensive noise. ZoomInfo gives senior marketers the buyer intent signals, decision-maker data, and intelligence to make sure your campaigns are reaching the people who are actually in market β€” before your budget runs out proving it.

Their mission is to empower all businesses with go-to-market intelligence that accelerates revenue growth.

It’s a resource that shows the difference between a campaign that performs and one that converts.
